What if the problem was misdiagnosed? Like the parents may have attributed the problem as "上火" or "胎毒." I had eczema when I was teen, and my mom was told by others it was 癣, and treated with some chinese medicine paste without any success. Later we went to see dermatologist, and he prescribed steroid cream as a treatment. It was a allergy, and till this day, I still have it occasionally, but considering the people without access to competent medical professionals , how would they know if their skin problems are allergy related?
