By the way, professors with no research experience in those non-research universities are different species than those who get promoted in research universities. Once I heard recommendation letters from professors in polytechnic in the UK isn't even accounted the same as those from research universities.

So your problem is that your post is misleading to students in China that in the US one can become a professor in the ordinary sense without research experience.
