Until months ago:
I was pulled over on my way to Santa Monica (I-10 East), the police told me: no question, everything is on the ticket, then I found out the ticket does not tell much, except where to pay or contest.
Since I do not have time to go to court, I chose to have a written contest, saying that I am driving on the road, have no idea what the violation was and request a video evidence to prove my fault.
Natually the judge believes the police and denied my contest, I have to pay the fine and no chance to driving school to avoid the point.
This is Case 1.
Then 3 months after that, I rush to movie rental at 11pm, police stopped me at an intersection, telling me:
1. I did not stop at the stop sign quickly enough, crossed the line a bit (he was behind me, I stopped at road side, no proof, and I did not cross the line), but he will let me go.
2. My address in DMV was not up-to-date, but he will let me go.
3. My license plate light is broken, I have to fix it, then clear the record (can go to any police station), that's a correctable ticket.
Here is what I found out:
1. my record in DMV is uptodate
2. the light is NOT broken.
3. I have to pay $15 to clear the ticket.
So again, the police stopped me and gave me a ticket for nothing.
Now I am afraid of police, trying my best to get away from them, because judge will not believe you but cops.
