We had clinic yesterday and I asked our uro about the Xiao procedure and he said Dr. Xiao is a quack who is in prison. The way he put it was that he is a urologist who was practicing neurosurgery. (I never thought of it that way.) According to our uro, Dr. Xiao had performed thousands of surgeries with no follow up, so who knows what the outcomes really were. And for the trial in the US, he said things aren't really going anywhere with that. I guess a dozen or so kids in the US had the procedure done in the US but results were not convincing and two of the kids ended up with a permanent foot drop as a result. He said maybe someday it will go somewhere but not right now. :(

Yes, there is a mom on another board whose child had the procedure. I think it was a daughter. She is one of the two with foot drop.

I had posted a long time ago about that study, our uro had said something similar, he had told us that the results were not being recorded as they should be, hence as op, said dr xiao was not following up with patients.

Our urologist was very skeptical as well. Pretty much said the same thing, that he was a urologist performing surgery that should be done by a neurosurgeon.
