I agree that talents in Tsinghua are two condensed. There are too many frastrations in the frist two years. I know many smart guys give up because of these tensions. Should these students are widely distributed, they will get a better overall performance at the end.

However, you miss the point why American eduction system is different. There are so many top universities. I don't see much difference of a top student entering Harvard or Stanford. Because there are so many top schools, talented students are widely spreaded among them.
